Week 1: Blessed, Happy, and Prosperous in Christ

Mar 25, 2026    Connie Witter

This lesson explores Psalm 1’s contrast between the righteous and the ungodly, showing that true blessing—happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable—comes from rejecting ungodly counsel, company, and scorn, and instead delighting in and meditating on God’s Word day and night. John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is the Word of God. Those who are rooted in Christ are likened to a tree planted by streams: nourished, fruitful in season, resilient, and prospering in all areas of life. By contrast, the ungodly are like chaff blown away; their way leads to ruin, while the Lord intimately knows, sustains, and honors the path of the righteous.
